How to Select the Best Repair Company

You can't believe everything on the Internet, so when it comes to smartphone and/or tablet repairs, it's important to do your research on the repair companies. That being said, here are some "common sense" tips for selecting the right repair company for your technology needs.

1. Check their Online Presence.

A website that is either outdated or in poor quality is the business equivalent to showing up for a job interview in dirty clothes. If their social media presence is full of useless pictures or impertinent information, move on to the next option. Reputable companies will have valuable information for their current and potential customers.

2. Read and Heed the Chatter.

Study any and all online referrals, or better yet, personal referrals. Ask family members or colleagues if they have any recommendations for service. There are tons of review sites out there, but be aware of spammers. Review sites have come under lots of fire recently with businesses paying people to go online and give great reviews when they actually perform poor services.

3. Call the Business.

There's nothing better than having a one-on-one conversation with a real person and not an automated response system. Ask basic questions regarding repairs, warranty or guarantee policies, and, if applicable, return policies.

4. Investigate the Estimates.

This can be tricky, because many customers may be turned off by the initial quote or estimate. It is important to speak to a customer service representative. They will be able to tell you what is involved in the diagnostic/repair process, which will also help justify some of the costs.

When it comes to phone and tablet repairs, it's extremely important for customers to do their homework on repair companies.
